If displaced....: If in fact the metatarsal fracture is displace, based upon the amount of displacement and the specific metatarsal involved, immobilization at the very least is required. Possible open reduction with internal fixation is needed, depending on the displacement. Buddy splinting metatarsals is not indicated nor effective. See your Podiatrist for evaluation and treatment.
