Very common: After the tooth is removed, such overhanging tissue should also be cut and trimmed but even otherwise there is nothing to worry about. If concerned, visit your dentist for post-up appointment.

See your Dentist: It sounds like you have a tissue tag or a piece of granulation tissue from the original infection. Your dentist or Oral Surgeon who removed the tooth will numb the area and clean it up. This is a fairly common occurrence. Best of luck.
