What's your question: Your doctor might have heard a bruit (pronounced brew-ee http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK289/) while listening to your carotid artery which suggests stenosis or narrowing which increases risk for stroke (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/carotid-artery-disease/basics/definition/con-20030206). So s/he ordered a carotid ultrasound. Painless procedure.
