Interesting question: That's an interesting question. The "bubble boy" had a disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). It's not a single disease, but a host of similar ones--so a life expectancy can't really be estimated. HOWEVER, although kids with SCID used to have to live their lives in a sterile environment, many kids today can actually be CURED with a bone marrow transplant, if done early enough.
