No known triggers: There are no known triggers, just bad luck. Tobacco is a possible exception; higher rates in cigarette smokers. CIN1 is mild displasia that rarely progresses to cancer. Follow your doctor's advice about follow-up exams and pap smears. Probably you won't have any further recurrences, and with proper follow-up, your risk of cervical cancer in the future is very low.
