Was event reported?: First, your place of employment should have a standard needlestick protocol. Any place that provides healthcare and utilizes needles should have a guideline or procedure for event response. Regarding herpes simplex, unless you are placing injections in the oral or genital region, the risk is very low of contracting HSV infection as a result of the stick. You should be safe with that regard.
