RU obese?: If you're overweight, weight reduction will lower your BP. If you're not, you can lower your BP a little by avoiding salt. Beyond that, it's genetically determined and the only thing you can do to avoid the complications of HBP (stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, heart failure, premature death) is control it. Meds are usually required.

Agree with Dr Werner: In addition to weight loss and diet changes, consider learning hypnosis or biofeedback to reduce stress and help lower BP. Seek a clinical psychologist trained in clinical hypnosis or biofeedback.
