Cannot Get Rid of It: There are no medications to get rid of of hpv. Non smokers with healthy immune systems tend to clear the infection over 6-9 months without treatment. Although most will clear on its own, hpv is a virus that has been shown to cause cervical, penile, anal and head/neck cancers. Make sure to get your follow up paps. Consider HPV vaccine to protect against other strains.

Why was pap done?: Immune system clears HPV, typically in several months. HPV DNA may persist and infection may reactivate years later, but usually doesn't. Why did you have a pap anyway? Paps are no longer recommended before age 25. If your HPV and CIN1 were never detected, they would have cleared on their own, with almost no cancer risk and none of this unnecessary worry. Get HPV vaccine, prevent future problems.
