Answer is: often!: Most now recommend about 20-30 minutes 5-6x/wk, including some high intensity interval training and some resistance training. Some say that working out on an empty stomach may increase the benefit. For some, exercise is stimulating so doing it early in the day is better so as not to interfere with sleep. For others it is not so, and exercising later or even in the evening is fine. Just do it!

Arnold WouldBe Proud: These are all excellent and relevant questions, but a lot depends on you: your lifestyle, work schedule, eating schedule. And what kind of "workout?" That usually means weights. And even there, it depends on your goals. If it's aerobics, like jogging, on time of day, traffic, whatever. There's lots of stuff free online. Or you could hire a trainer. At least you know you don't know., and what.

No perfect answer: Anytime you show up is the best time. Exercising 30 minutes daily is a great start. Combine aerobic and weights according to the day and if you are out of shape consider getting a trainer. There are also many books you can read which will give you guidance. Many people start their exercise program and are already at their perfect weight and others are not. In that case combine diet & exercise
