Maybe.: It could be mono, but if a negative rapid strep was not followed up by a definitive throat culture for strep, you may have persistent strep this not responding to the antibiotics you were prescribed. Get checked again, and possibly get a strep culture and a monospot test and/or whatever else the doc recommends.

You need a further work up: you need a further workup. Fever is lasting seven days and I assume the strep test was negative. You need to further workup to clarify what the true diagnosis is. You need to discuss this with your physician to be referred to an infectious disease consultant
