It depends!: Sometimes both are prescribed together after childbirth, but it depends on the person. Not everyone can take ibuprofen. Also, it depends on why you are taking it. What did the doctor say? if you are having pain and being prescribed methylergonovine, then it would be reasonable to call the doc and find out what you can safely take to treat the pain, if that information was not already given to you.
