Tartrate or succinat: Metoprolol comes in two forms, short acting tartrate (taken twice daily) & long acting succinate (single daily dose). Both come in 25mg doses. Rate & degree of BP drop depends upon individual. Best to monitor closely for next 24hrs. If weak, dizzy, lightheaded, go to ER for close monitoring until wears off. Consider using pill planner to avoid errors in adherence. Or set alarm on smartphone.
