Yes: Earlier studies suggested short use. But a lot of patients have been on it for longer. Risk of pneumonia may be increased. Try avoiding laying down at least 1 hour after meals, do not overeat, avoid smoking and if overweight loss weight

Omeprazole is a very: safe medicine and many people require a 40 mg daily dose to control reflux symptoms.Recuce your risk for Reflux by elevating the head of ur bed by 30 degrees,don't eat and lie down for 3 hours.Know that alcohol,chocolate ,caffeine , and tobacco can make reflux worse.There is also corrective surgery for those who qualify.These r ways to reduce &/or eliminate the need for indefinite Omeprazole
