A member asked:

I don't have insurance so how do i know it's kidney stones....left pain in upper and lower abdominal and a burning when i pee but again all pain is left?

Possible: One kidney on each side so a stone or kidney infection may only affect one side. Any fever or chills? Burning may favor infection over stone. Try calling city or county health department to see what may be available in terms of care but dont wait too long

Infection or stone: Dear Jackie u r a 30 year old young woman, the symptoms sound like a UTI but could also be a stone, a stone many times occurs along with an infection. Sometimes ovarian cysts cause pain on one side. If you don't have insurance then there are many clinics that have free services. Try calling the local hospital or medical society or even ur local health department for help.
