A member asked:

Is there a such thing as c blood type? is it possible for parents with b and o blood child to be c blood type?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hemoglobin C: The main blood TYPES are A, B, AB and O. Perhaps you are referring to an abnormal hemoglobin type (Hemoglobin C) which can be detected on newborn screening results. Hemoglobin C is a structural variant of normal Hemoglobin A which may be of no clinical significance, or cause anemia and enlarged spleen.
