Hemoglobin C: The main blood TYPES are A, B, AB and O. Perhaps you are referring to an abnormal hemoglobin type (Hemoglobin C) which can be detected on newborn screening results. Hemoglobin C is a structural variant of normal Hemoglobin A which may be of no clinical significance, or cause anemia and enlarged spleen.
