Hard to know : It's hard to know what the brown spots are without a picture. However, given that you are in the obese category, it's possible you have something called acanthosis nigricans. This can be seen in people who are insulin resistant and means it is more likely you will develop diabetes (if you don't have it already). I encourage you to see your doctor and have evaluation for diabetes. Well wishes.
