Can be several thing: Spotting can have many causes including infections, polyps, abnormal cells on the cervix, side effects of medications and some systematic diseases. The diagnosis requires a full history, exam and appropriate testing. It is something for which you do need to see your PCP or GYN since it is new to you. Hope this helps.
