Temp is normal, 98.6: is elevated. Convention is to not consider temp a fever if not above 98.6. oral (different from core or skin temp). Women typically lower 97 AM, upper 97 PM; Men typical 0.5 degree warmer; thermometers & individuals vary. Feeling hot/sweating reflects brain stem temp control center feels temp is above desired & initiates behaviors to ↓ core temp, e.g. remove clothes/covers & initiate sweating.
