Define birthmark: Some visible marks, especially those representing dilated blood vessels will not be visible at birth but show up after a period of rapid growth. It that sense they are present at birth but delayed in their detection. Other marks, that show up later are more commonly labeled as a nevus, most of which are benign, and may have specific labels based on their specific appearance. Some were overlooked.
