HPV: LEEP stands for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. This is a surgery to remove precancerous cells of the cervix caused by the HPV virus. It does not remove the HPV itself. Most HPV will be cured by your own immune system. Sometimes it does not and progresses to the abnormal cells that require a LEEP procedure
