Bad gallbladder: Fever, vomiting, pain in upper belly, usually right sided, bloating, belching, worse after eating fatty (or other) foods, getting worse over time, several weeks to months, and family history are all symptoms of a bad gallbladder. Hydrate, avoid fatty foods, if initial imaging is negative ask for nuclear TECH HIDA scan and surgery consult. Take friend with you. Be well.

No: Alcohol can damage the liver, but not the gallbladder. Ask your doctor if it could be biliary dyskinesia, and if a CCK-HIDA scan is appropriate. If you have it, make sure to pay attention to whether or not the CCK administration reproduces your pain. Hope this helps!
