Genital ulcers: Or herpes are spread by sexual contact. Once you have been exposed they can reoccur. Taking an antiviral medication is helpful if this is frequent.

STD,yes,pattern: The worst risk for a newborn occurs if you have your first outbreak during labor and delivery.A significant number can get herpes encephalitis and die. With good management you can limit your outbreaks and risk to newborns (it travels up the birth canal) .If your outbreaks are infrequent, risk is low during childbirth.Some elect c-section to eliminate the risk.
