Referred pain: The roots of your teeth are up against the floor of your sinus. If there is any inflammation in this location it will irritate the tooth root and make the tooth hurt. Some of these same nerves send branches to the surrounding gums and lips, and can then cause symptoms there as well. Hope this helps.

Yes: Yes, the nerves that supply the upper lip and some upper teeth pass through or near the sinus. If pain recurs, see an oral surgeon for correlation.
