My son has a couple a dozen red dots on his belly arms and legs some raised some not. he's not acting funny and they don't seem to bother him.

Have him checked: by his doctor....or at least call to speak with them. Does he have any other symptoms? Any fever, any new exposures (food, clothes, soaps, detergents, medications)? Do they look like broken blood vessels? If so, you should have him seen today. This could be just a benign heat rash or allergy or viral infection, but it could be something more serious.
