Sciatica: Jolts of pain which affect your entire leg could represent a pinched nerve in your lumbar spine, which can cause shooting pains down the leg (generically termed sciatica). Fortunately, most cases of sciatica will resolve with time and conservative treatment. For now, you could try some NSAIDs (i.e. ibuprofen, Aleve) and avoid any strenuous activity. See a physician if symptoms persist or worsen
