Get Checked: If it truly is your thyroid gland that is swelling, and you just had an upper respiratory tract infection, this could be an indicator of a condition called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. You should see your doc for some blood work. Hope this helps!

Post infectious: This sounds like post infectious thyroiditis. Please have some bloodwork done to see how your tosh and t4levels are. You may have high function then low but it will get back to normal and MD should follow your labs every 2weeks for a while.
