Food cravings: Odd cravings for food may be associated with pregnancy, iron deficiency (anemia), or simply an obsession that should pass. Pica is a more unusual craving of usually inedible items, such as dirt that occurs more often in children. It has similar origins, i.e. iron deficiency. Have your blood checked.
