A member asked:

What is the prevalence of food allergies and is it easy to identify the symptoms of a food allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See an allergist: 3-5% of children have food allergies 1-3% of adults have allergies, you need to see an allergist to determine what you are allergic to and what you need to avoid. Symptoms include hives, swelling of the skin, cramping and diarrhea, shortness of breath, wheezing, and in extreme cases anaphylaxis.
