A member asked:

Is there anything that can cause a blue halo around my once dark brown eyes?

Lipid: You are develping a corneal arcus, which is a deposit of lightly colored lipid in the outer layers of the cornea. Since this is in front of the iris, it looks like the eye is changing color but the iris underneath this bluish deposit is the same color as always.

Arcus: What you describe is likely arcus formation. It is a clouding of the outer rim of the cornea that can give a bluish appearance. It can be seen with age or in patients with high cholesterol.
