Rib pain: First, hope you didn't fracture a rib--6 weeks pain, 6-9 months to fully resolve from personal experience. If a muscle strain, expect 1-2 days worsening then gradual recovery of soft tissue injury over 1-3 weeks. Start with nsaids, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches and rest. Then "get back on" when pain tolerable. Resume full activity after pain subsides.
