A member asked:

What is the recovery period of a subtailar tibial fusion on your ankle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About one year : 2-3 months of initial non weight bearing post op for bone healing : usually upon verification of bone /fusion site healing there will be gradual return to protected weight bearing (with a boot) and ultimately to proper shoes and orthotics. Physical therapy may be indicated. Full return to exercises may take about a year pending level of exercise
