A member asked:

Left upper side of my lip has been mildly burning for a few days, not throbbing pain, sometimes the lower left burns too. not painful i have anxiety.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lip burning: Your lip is supplied by cranial nerves , so theoretically any damage to the nerve can present as loss of sensation or numbness & /or burning . sometimes chapped lips or cold sores can cause it . Lip burning by itself is not a problem , However if associated with neurologic symptoms such as weakness of the upper extremities or slurred speech , it may be a sign of a stroke . Call 911 .
