Changes in diet: Avoid lots of complex carbs, eat more stone fruits (plums, peaches, cherries, nectarines, apricots) and pears, and their juices, twice daily. You may need to take a medicine like PEG 3350 and/or milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) on a daily basis to aid in softening your stools.
