Ovulation: Mid-cycle spotting often occurs with ovulation. Spotting any time in the cycle can indicate infection or one of many conditions that need attention. If your menses start 14 days after the spotting you can assume it was ovulation. If abnormal spotting or bleeding persists see your gynecologist for evaluation.
