Likely period start: Most likely the current spotting is your period about to start, but take a pregnancy test to be sure you're not pregnant. The spotting earlier in the cycle was probably around the time of ovulation, which is common. If things continue to be irregular and pregnancy test is negative, see your doctor to evaluate.
