A member asked:

Can probiotics cause a tooth infection to come back?

They should not.: Probiotics are just normal bacteria which typically do NOT cause infections...they're called non-pathogenic bacteria. They help populate the colon with normal, healthy bacteria, taking up the space and the resources in the colon so there's no room for the bad kind of bacteria. Tooth infections are usually caused by gum disease or issues with oral hygiene. Talk to your dentist.

Interesting: But there are some small studies that demonstrate that Lactobacillus containing milk is associated with reduced dental caries(cavities).

Probiotics, no: It is the lack of good oral hygiene and diet that can lead to tooth decay, gingivitis and infection of the teeth. See your dentist for check up and cleaning.

Probiotics: Probiotics will not cure/eliminate a tooth infection. Antibiotics will reduce severity of infection, but actual dental treatment required to remove the infected tooth material. Cannot cause or cure a dental infection with a pill. Please see your Dentist.
