Good dates: Best dating criteria for determining gestational age is your LMP. Weeks are by convenient counted starting from the first day of the LMP, and the expected date of delivery is 40 weeks after the first day of the LMP. This same convenient is used when gestational age is estimated by ultrasound, but ultrasound (US) can not estimate gestational age exactly and dates within 3 days is very close.
