Recurrent infection: Although antibiotics may have "Killed" infection, often time resistant organisms may develope and worsening redness and swelling may be an indication. If no infection is present, then RICE therapy with ace compression, ice and elevation (decreased activity with sling may improve). OTC anti-inflammatory agents may reduce erythema (redness) and swelling. Worsening pain, swelling may be warning sign.
