A member asked:

If i had thyroid cancer am i unable to donate bone marrow? on the website it doesn't specify thyroid cancer.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Am not sure: Several years ago Dr. W. Lawrence at Sloan Kettering at the time began doing kidney transplants. While all needed immunosuppressive drugs. He transplanted one case from a patient who had colon Ca. The patient did not require any suppression but less than a year later he developed metastatic colon Ca from the transplant. Cancer donors including that from marrow may spread tumor.
