Really constipated? : The first thing is to determine whether your baby is actually constipated. If the newborn makes rock-hard stool with discomfort, or possibly blood-streaked stool, that is constipation. In that case use 1/2 glycerin suppository and see his doc. But if he is eating and happy, making wet diapers, and has a soft belly to touch, a baby can go several days without making a BM and it's not abnormal.

Breast feeding: Are you breastfeeding ? If yes , no need to give anything , v normal for a beast fed baby to either have constipation or have multiple stools a day. Breastfeeding mothers can be on medicines that cause constipation too. So increase your intake of fluids, juice etc , it may help.
