If you are concerned: Any amount of pain that concerns you, the patient, should compel you to discuss with a physician. The physician will want to know the type of pain (sharp or dull), frequency, duration, and anything that makes it better or worse. Knowing the answers to these questions, coupled with knowing the exact location of the pain, will allow the physician to determine what further tests may be needed.
