You'd have to ask: Clomid (clomiphene) is a fairly standard and appropriate treatment for women with PCOS when TTC. Your doctor is the only one who can tell you why he/she doesn't want to prescribe it; you might ask him/her what the reasons are. Many doctors don't prescribe it because they are not familiar with it's use. You could always get a second opinion if you are unhappy with the answers you get. good wishes.
