No: High blood pressure actually does not refer to narrowing at all. It is a measurement of the forces on the artery. High pressures lead to increased thickness and stiffness of the artery. This may contribute to increased cholesterol deposit in the walls of the artery.And then may also contribute to rupture of the artery (aneurysm) or dissection.
