A member asked:

Just found out i have a nodule of .4cm on my thyroid right side is this bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid nodules: Thyroid nodules are common, especially when ultrasound is used. Because of the the size limits are commonly used to determine who needs a biopsy, along with other factors such as personal and family history, and other characteristics. Most nodules less than 1 cm do not need to be biopsied. Follow-up at that size might also not be required very frequently.
