Tendon or bursitis : I suspect during your workout at the gym you pulled muscles or tendons and developing tendinitis or bursitis or both in your shoulder. It would be best to ice the shoulder especially for the first twdays after the injury for the next day or so and then use heat after that. And maintain range of motion. If it persists you can ask your physician to evaluate it and even if necessary have you been seen by a specialist
