You can recheck: When there is a discrepancy between two pregnancy test results the only way to determine which is true is to do a blood BHCG test with your doctor. You can also repeat the test in a few days to confirm that it is still negative.

Late ovulation: The menstrual cycle is divided into two phases, from when your period starts until you ovulate and from ovulation until your next period starts. A 28 day cycle is based on each phase lasting 14 days. In most women the first phase can be shorter or longer or can vary from cycle to cycle. The most common reason why you missed your expected period is that you ovulated later than normal this month.

Home preg tests: Hpts are very accurate but not perfect. Still, it is unlikely that you are pregnant if they are negative. Review your diet and exercise. Consider seeing a doc to eval cause of irregular cycles, often low thyroid, anemia, or pcos. If not planning a pregnancy, consider meds to regulate cycle.
