A member asked:

I've been taking oroxine a month, just find out i have hypotireoid my period is late 6 days & never was later before. maybe i am pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need f/u thyroid lab: when a patient is started on Levothyroxine(Oroxine), need to have follow up lab 6-8 weeks to check for thyroid levels, generally Free T4 and TSH. Being on Levothyroxine should not affect menses cycle, unless being given excessive or inadequate doses. I recommend a Urine HCG pregnancy test, either at home or at your physician office. No mention in question whether using any type of contraception
