Infection? Hormones?: Period timing is very complicated. A change in your cycle is good to have evaluated. Some things that can cause more frequent periods are infections like yeast infections, sexually transmitted disease, changes in birth control method, thyroid disease, emotional stress, benign fibroid growths of the uterus, and sexual activity. Wait and see for next month, if it recurs, see your doctor.
