Go see ur Family Doc: Without knowing what's causing pain in your ear, I can't recommend any specific solution. Yes, playing music too loud via earphones can damage your ears/hearing. But to ease the pain, you need to go see your Family Doc for an evaluation to determine if pain is due to middle or outer ear infection or something else.
