Can you tell me all about what can stress do to your period?

Stress & menses: Stress can disrupt your menstrual cycle, making it longer, shorter, or skip menstrual periods altogether. Stress and increased systemic cortisol can temporarily alter the functioning of your hypothalamus, an area of the brain which controls menstrual cycle-regulating hormones. Ovulation and menstruation can stop completely, or just be erratic. This can all normalize once the stress decreases.
